Miley Cyrus is taking issue with a photo of herself that’s going around, and it’s not another amateur, truth-or-dare Internet snapshot — it’s the handiwork of Annie Leibovitz. HMMMM. That evil photographer, coercing the poor Diney girl. Shame on you….hahahahahah!
“I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” Cyrus said Sunday in a statement through her publicist. “I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.”
The photos, appearing in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, were taken by Leibovitz, a renowned celebrity photographer whose edgy, silver-toned portraits have included subjects such as Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and a naked, pregnant Demi Moore.
The Cyrus pictures accompany an interview with the 15-year-old pop star and her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus. They include shots of the teen wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet, looking over her shoulder with her back exposed.
The Disney Channel, which airs Cyrus’ TV show “Hannah Montana,” was also critical of Vanity Fair. (Yeah they didn’t know….come on!)
“Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines,” a network statement said.
A phone message left for a Vanity Fair representative was not immediately returned Sunday night. But in a statement to the TV show “Entertainment Tonight,” Vanity Fair defended its position.
“Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day,” the magazine said. “Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley

Man-o-man, John Mayer lands some HIGH END TAIL! Actress Jennifer Aniston has sparked speculation of a new romance with rocker John Mayer, after the pair was spotted dining together in Miami, Florida on Friday The Rumor Has It star met Mayer at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, where they enjoyed a mid-afternoon meal. The two stars were locked in conversation for 90 minutes, and sat with their heads close together, according to the eatery’s general manager Charles Bell. They even shared their food - Aniston “ate some of” Mayer’s ham sandwich, and they split a chocolate dessert. But Bell is refusing to fuel rumors on the nature of their relationship. He tells People.com, “I was happy to accommodate them. I can’t speculate on what kind of meeting it was, but they looked happy and seemed to have a great time.” Star Muscle has also learned that Aniston has had some of her eggs frozen since her biological clock is a ticking. Maybe John Mayer could write a catchy song about ‘fryin’ up sum eggs….MMMM YEAH’.

Disney sensation Miley Cyrus is now officially the wealthiest child in the world - she is reportedly set to be a billionaire by the year’s end. Raking in $18 million in 2007 alone, the 15-year-old singer/actress has climbed her way to the top of a list of Hollywood’s richest kids, with her Hannah Montana franchise estimated to be worth $1 billion by 2009. A spokesperson for Disney says, “Kids are earning more and more and can command huge fees in Hollywood. But no one could have predicted how popular Miley would be. She’s a true star.” Cyrus’ mother Leticia adds, “A lot goes into her investment fund, which she can’t touch until she’s 18.” The teen hit the headlines earlier this week when it was announced she had signed a seven-figure deal with the Disney Book Group to write her autobiography, slated for a spring 2009 release.Let’s hope she stays off the crack pipe like all these other stars and doesn’t start flashing her coochie coochie all over town. Wesley Snipes gets 3 years for not filing tax returns. Mr. Snipes, who was convicted in February, received one year for each count, to be served consecutively, and an additional year of probation. The sentence was handed down by Judge William Terrell Hodges of Federal District Court. “He never stated he didn’t pay his taxes or show any remorse for it,” said Robert O’Neill, the acting United States attorney for the Middle District of Florida, the lead prosecutor on the case. Didn’t this guy make up to $100 million dollars in the 1980’s and 1990’s? Where did all this money go? Mr. Snipes even tried to make a down payment on his taxes before sentencing; his legal team offered Judge Hodges three checks totaling $5 million. Judge Hodges refused the checks, saying he did not have the authority to accept them. Prosecutors also declined to accept the checks. An Internal Revenue Service employee eventually accepted the checks on behalf of the Treasury Department. A member of Mr. Snipes’s legal team said they would appeal. “We were hoping for a complete acquittal,” the lawyer, Linda Moreno, said. “I have faith in the process, and I have faith in the jury system. We will appeal.” If I were Wesley I would have used some of that money and hired a better lawyer. He paid 5 million and THEN it didn’t mean anything? THEN he goes to jail. update: Wesley Snipes has requested he be allowed to serve his three-year prison sentence at a facility near his New Jersey home. The Blade actor was handed the term by Florida judge Judge William Terrell Hodges after he was convicted of failing to file his taxes for five years. His legal team have asked the judge and prison officials to house him in a federal prison as close to his home as possible - and officials have vowed to accommodate his wishes. Bureau of Prisons spokesperson Felicia Ponce says, “We try to house inmates within 500 miles of their residence so they can maintain ties with their family and community.”

Troubled pop star Amy Winehouse has been cautioned by British police after confessing to allegations of assault. The hitmaker, 24, is reported to have head-butted a man outside a pub in Camden, north London in the early hours of Wednesday, after a boozy night out. Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of assault on Friday when she voluntarily turned herself in to authorities at London’s Holborn Police Station to be quizzed about the incident. She was held in custody overnight after a doctor ruled she was “in no fit state” to be questioned. But, after explaining her actions to police on Saturday morning, she was released without charge. Her publicists must have paid the man off that she head butted. How much friggin money does this chick still have after that one hit wonder!? I can’t believe she isn’t homeless yet.

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has been hospitalized with a minor kidney infection. The 27-year-old checked into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday complaining of “feeling achy” and suffering a “fever” reports publication In Touch Weekly. Simpson has responded well to treatment and is expected to be released later on Monday, according to her representative.

Thank God in the heaven above! Knocked Up star Katherine Heigl has dismissed reports she is to quit Grey’s Anatomy, insisting her Hollywood career comes second to her role in the hit TV show. The 29-year-old made her big-screen breakthrough in Judd Apatow’s 2007 romantic comedy and has since been hailed by critics as the next Julia Roberts. It had been feared Heigl would abandon the medical drama in order to take advantage of her considerable film success, but she insists she’s looking forward to returning to her TV role as Dr. Isobel Stevens and won’t be leaving just yet. She says, “When I come back to Grey’s, I am actually really excited. After nine months a year for four years, of course you’re going to think, ‘I want to be someone else for a while.’ I landed really good things and I did them in my breaks. It broke up the monotony of the character and I’m very, very grateful for opportunities. But Grey’s is such a good cast. Everybody is amazing.”
