Johnny Cash Tribute Concert Cancelled
Posted January 9, 2008
A concert marking the 40th anniversary of Johnny Cash’s famous concert at Folsom State Prison has been scrapped, with the prison and the promoter blaming each other for the cancellation.Prison officials said that the show was called off because of security concerns and problems involving filming rights and media access. The show had been scheduled for Sunday (January 13) in the same prison cafeteria where Cash gave his famed performance for inmates on January 13, 1968. I actually listened to the original concert ON VINYL and it was an unbelievable performance and event. He truly is a part of American Music History. Maybe the felons wanted 50 Cent or Daughtery to play there.
